Linsell Family Tree - Blood Line
The name Linsell comes from Saxon word 'lime tree on the hill'. The Linsell's settled in North Essex around the town's and villages of: Stebbing, Lindsell, Braintree, Dunmow. Their main work was: Farmers, Malters, Saddle Makers, Hackney Cab Drivers, Shop Owners and Public House Owners.
They were in Essex before the Norman invasion of 1066. The Linsell's arrived in the England from the Anglo Saxon invasion. The Anglo Saxon's started arriving in England after the Roman's left in 410AD. The shame is a lot of records got destroyed with Henry VIII Reformation around 1520 - 1552.
My part of the family tree moved from Stebbing, Essex to Central London in the 1860's. At first they lived very near to Kings Cross Railway Station before moving to Hackney. My Great Great Grand Father was born in Hackney like my Father. I was born in Edmonton Near Tottenham and my Grand Father was born at home in
Tottenham. 88 Risley Avenue, Tottenham, London N17. England
